Fake ID Scanners – Truth or Myth?

An ID card scanner displays and records data stored on a driver’s license, state identification or military identification. Usually, it includes the age, date of birth, name, address and expiry date of the card.

While it’s easy to help a bouncer to reduce expired IDs and minor IDs, it does not automatically detect fake IDs. For a scannable fake id that is most effective at detecting false IDs, the operator must manually compare the information printed on the ID with the information stored on the ID.

The barcode and magnetic stripe of a typical driver’s license include name, address, date of birth, height, weight, eye color, hair color, license number and expiration date. The ID card scanner displays this information in an easy-to-read format on a screen and stores the transaction in a database.

With many false identifiers, the information encoded in a magnetic stripe or a barcode does not match what is physically written in front of the identity card. For example, an ID card may read that someone has been named “Jane Doe”.

However, the name stored in the map can read “John Smith”. Common practices for fake ID makers to print new information on a card that is encoded with other information.

Because it is more difficult to encode the data stored on a magnetic strip or a barcode than on a blank card, Scannable fake id manufacturers often buy pre-encoded cards en masse and print others. Different names, addresses and birthdays. These cards are sold to minors as “fake scannable identifiers”. They scan, but the information printed on the map does not match the information stored on the map.

An ID card scanner is possible for a bouncer, bartender or wine seller to view the data coded on the ID card. Without the identification scanner, there is no way to access this information. An ID scanner operator must physically compare the information displayed in the ID with the information displayed on the ID scanner.

If the data on the front of the card does not match the data stored on the card, it is likely that the ID is wrong. In this way, an identification scanner can be a valuable tool for assessing the authenticity of IDs.

An ID card scanner is a tool for displaying and saving information stored on an identification card. This will help a bouncer to reveal a false piece of ID by disclosing encoded information on the card and providing it in a manner comparable to the information printed on the card. However, a cautious user must manually compare two sets of information. A bouncer may also refer to other physical security devices such as holograms, photos, and map material to help identify the authenticity of an ID.

Contrary to popular belief, commercially available identification scanners do not use a license number against the official state database for authenticity. State-controlled databases containing license data are not publicly available.

The identification scanner records the license number and information as proof that age is being checked diligently, but it does not check if the license number is valid in a state database. Only legal authorities can check if a license number is valid.

Some companies on the market “Fake ID Scanners.” These products are deliberately misleading.
