A 3D Projector uses image engines that are capable of getting updated instantly. The functionality is similar to any other projector where this type of projector has a bulb, an imaging lens, and a lens. 3D projectors mostly have an infrared emitter or a small radio transmitter, which transmits signals to 3D glasses for keeping them in sync with the projected images.
How did the 3D projector come into existence?
The early models of 3D projectors were 720p and did not have and HDMI input. Due to this, they were capable of receiving content from a PC with the help of a VGA or a DVI cable. This could reduce the image quality to a satisfactory, though not great, 480i. Later, in 2010, the 3D projector industry was revolutionized with the launch of the LG CF3D. It was the first 1080p 3D projector designed for home theater.
The projector had 3 HDMI inputs; this meant that it could process signals from 3D-ready Blu-rays and PS3. Various 3D formats could also be managed by the LG CF3D 3D projector, including frame serial, side by side, and checkerboard. Since 2011, the industry has witnessed a wider variety of HD 3D projectors, including projectors that convert 2D content to 3D. Results vary from poor to relatively fine, depending on what is being projected, but native 3D content would always look far better.
How 3D Projector Technology Works?
Images and glasses of anaglyph are the most basic way of producing a 3D effect. The red and blue glasses made famous during earlier attempts at a 3D revival are likely to have been seen by all.3D projector glasses work by filtering an image consisting of two superimposed color layers that are almost identical.
Anaglyph technology works with the right content and also with any TV or projector. It does, however, provide the lowest quality of a 3D image. Many of the cinema 3D experiences are delivered through polarizing systems. These send the light of the projector through polarizing filters, which force the light waves to oscillate in two opposing directions, one for the left eye, and the other for the right. For this, a special screen that preserves polarization is a major requirement.
Filters on a 3D projector glass help the lenses to pull the light for each eye passively. The brain makes a combination of the two images that are called “3D”. Color gets enhanced and cross-talk is virtually eliminated with the polarizing method. This is different as compared to anaglyph when one eye picks up an image originally intended for the other. The brightness of the image, however, is significantly reduced as each eye only picks up half of the light from the screen. Some theaters make up for this by using two separately polarized projectors.
Holographic projection is an emerging technology wave that will transform the way humans look at things in the new era. It will have enormous effects on all areas of life, such as education, business, art, science, and health care. It is important to learn what a hologram is to understand how a holographic projector operates. Holography is the means through which light patterns are recorded.
3D hologram projectors are getting innovated constantly; here’s how:
Companies are redefining the way of interacting with holographic technology
IKIN, Inc. (San Diego) announced that it would be the first corporation to model a fully interactive, high-quality and affordable holographic eco-system. This new style of Holographic Augmented Reality (HAR) will be termed RYZ and will use a new “photon mapping” visual setting technology. The RYZ platform will also provide each user and developer with the special ability to screen holographic volumetric projections over thoroughly analyzed environments. With this, they can create a truly unique visual experience and enable people to manipulate their scenarios in ways that have never been seen before.
3D Hologram Projectors are becoming the backbone of live events
Among a range of industry giants, Production Resource Group and 3D Live (creator of the 3D holographic LED display) have been working towards bringing the 3D LED technology to live events. Such initiatives will bring 3D hologram technology to corporate events, live concerts, and e-sports clients. In the 3D world, displays, videos, and seminars have an exciting and challenging component that engages and entertains the audience. PRG and 3D Live 3D holographic technology can be used in the professional video presentation, product launch, or technical presentation— whenever information needs to be delivered intuitively, in an immersive way, or visually.
3D glasses are an old thing now; industry giants are replacing the need for 3D glasses
Volkswagen and SeeReal Technologies are planning to bring forth a solution that has enabled projections to be displayed three-dimensionally – eliminating the need for 3D glasses. The software determines the holographic representation for the position of the specific viewer that depends on the position. The software recalculates the hologram, undetected by the human eye when the viewer starts moving to the side. The representation is single-colored or multicolored, showing planes, engines, and spaceships. SeeReal Technologies’ holograms do not mislead the eyes. They display the objects in three dimensions. That means the object can be seen from multiple angles and the eyes function just like in daily life, along with the proper focus of the lenses of the eye.
The ‘future’ of 3D projectors is being defined by the ‘present’ of 3D hologram projectors
The 3D projector market is propagating on its fundamental concept; whereas, the future of 3D projectors lies in the hands of 3D hologram projectors. Augmented reality (AR) based on smartphones and the AR headset explosion will introduce 3D holograms everywhere. However, the actual AR hologram revolution is being overlooked in the meantime.
The technology has become increasingly omnipresent, and companies are fighting to achieve market dominance. The AR smartphone app experience is now springing up — and each day the world of AR headsets is getting closer. The next step in making digital content more human-compatible is to believe in hologram displays. The era of no-smartphone and no-headset 3D hologram projector has arrived.
